Call To Arms and Rugby League's One Community

Call To Arms and Rugby League's One Community have come together for this weekend's inaugural Call To Arms Round of the Telstra Premiership.
One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Odds are it could be you or your best mate.

Through its support of Cancer Council's Call To Arms the NRL is working hard to tackle cancer in men, by raising awareness and hopefully plenty of money for research, prevention and support programs for men affected by cancer.

The NRL will dedicate round 23 of the Telstra Premiership to the Call To Arms campaign, all 16 NRL teams will answer the Call To Arms by wearing the yellow armband.
Paramatta Eels, Tim Mannah knows firsthand the impact of cancer when his brother and Cronulla Sharks player, Jon was diagonosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. "There is so much community support around cancer in women. Cancer in men needs the same attention and we need to encourage men to have regular check-ups, as early detection can lead to more effective treatment" says Tim. Thanks to early detection and with the support of his family and friends, Jon is now in remission.
